Bin Night and Made in Chelsea

It shouldn’t be so hard to remember, should it?  Bin night.  It’s been the same day for decades now.  Monday.  Bin night.

Except, for some reasons, I always seem to forget it.  Always leave my bins in my garden, when I should be wheeling them out to the pavement, ready for collection the next morning.

What I need is an aide-mémoire.  Something to link bin night with something else that happens on Monday evenings.  Of course.  Made in Chelsea.

Nowadays, I never miss bin night.  As soon as I see Jules and Tristan carousing at some fashionable SW3 party, I remember that I need to separate my general waste from my recyclables.  That first glimpse of Jazz and Jack sipping cocktails at Raffles reminds me that I must empty the bin in my bathroom.  And I can no longer see Sam Prince without thinking about garden waste.

Bin night is now irrevocably linked with Made in Chelsea.  Advertisers and product placers for the programme should take note.  All the interval commercials for high-end fashion brands and expensive cosmetics pass me by unnoticed.  My mind is firmly fixed on degreasers, multi-purpose cleaning liquids, and wheelie-bin liners.
